is located in Poltava oblast on the Lokhvytsia River. The town was first
mentioned in historical sources in 1320 as an ancient Rus settlement on

liberation struggle of the Ukrainian people the Lokhvytsia Cossack

This coin celebrates Zaporizhzhia – a city with a rich history, which
derives its name from the famous Dnipro rapids. One of the largest
administrative, industrial and cultural centers in southern Ukraine, the
city uniquely combines natural beauty, industrial giants and various
architectural monuments. The island of Khortytsia – a unique natural
site and a historical and spiritual center of Zaporizhzhia lands – is
located near the city.

of which goes back to 1100. Being the center of an appanage principality
in Volyn, the town has long been at the crossroads of the area’s
historical and political events and trade routes. It was also one of

family, which produced powerful and influential political leaders in
