10€ SPAIN 2023 - Maria Maeztu (Woman's day 8 of March)
On the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day, and paying homage to the educator and humanist María de Maeztu, the Royal Mint issues a new collector's coin, in sterling silver, dedicated to a woman champion of the fight for education for women that would lead to equality and freedom for women.
On the obverse is the portrait of the Majesty of King Felipe VI.
On the reverse of the coin appears the image «María de Maeztu, doctor honoris causa by Smith College, 1919», which is preserved in the Archive of the Residencia de Señoritas (José Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón Foundation); to its left the symbol of the woman, the face value 10 euro and the Mint mark. Surrounding these motifs and legends, the legends 8-M International Women's Day and María de Maeztu appear.
