V Centenary of the circumnavigation of Ferdinand Magellan
This coin, by Luís Filipe de Abreu, is the fourth and last in the commemorative series of the first circumnavigation voyage, carried out five exactly centuries ago. This coin commemorating the conclusion of the epic, thus completing the set. On both sides of this coin we see the ship Victoria, returning to the port with badly damaged sails, and an armillary sphere, symbol of the advances in the art of navigation, to which Magellan contributed so much.
